Presentation of the contribution of the virtual during the exhibition held at BU of the University Claude Bernard Lyon 1. This presentation is made through a video illustrating the work carried out within the ORIGAMI team on the design of simulators for learning medical gestures. The exhibition will take place on Thursday February 4 from 12:15 p.m. to 1:45 p.m. (in accordance with the health protocol). The workshop STRAPS (organised by the groups DB, SOC and DRIM of the LIRIS) aims at promoting scientific discussion on the way data stemming from different providers and produced under different conditions can be efficiently integrated to answer simple, relational, analytical queries ensuring providers, algorithms and data trust.

In this talk, Juliàn Tachella will present his recent work on computational imaging theory and applications. On the applications side, he will introduce a new computational framework for recovering 3D point clouds in real-time from noisy and incomplete single-photon lidar measurements, and a novel non-line-of-sight imaging technique, which relies on the co-design of sensing and computation. On the theoretical side, he will present an analysis of the implicit bias of convolutional neural networks towards clean images using recent advances on the large system limit interpretation of neural networks. His analysis identifies strong links between CNN architectures and well-known signal processing techniques such as non-local means.

Bruno Levy, researcher and director of INRIA Nancy Grand-Est is invited for a LIRIS seminar around fluid simulation and optimal transport, on Monday, February 24th, in Nautibus, room C5. Abstract: I will talk about some numerical methods to simulate incompressible fluids with free boundaries. The methods I'm interested in [Gallouet & Merigot, DeGoes et. al] decompose the fluid into a set of cells (power diagram) in such a way that the volume of each cell remains constant, hence enforcing incompressibility. The volume constraints uniquely determines the parameters of the power diagram, that can be found by maximizing a concave objective function (semi-discrete optimal transport). I will show some examples of 3D fluid simulations with free boundaries, viscosity and surface tension, as well as applications in astrophysics.
