From August 17 to 22, 2026, the Imagine team organized in Lyon the 27th edition of the International Conference on Pattern Recognition (ICPR), a flagship event of the IAPR. More than 1150 participants attended a rich program: 4 international keynotes, the conferences of the three winners of the IAPR Lecture Prizes, a Doctoral Consortium, poster sessions and many workshops. An event made possible thanks to the support of 15 sponsors and the mobilization of many volunteers from the laboratory.

Baptiste Genest and David Coeurjolly received a Best Paper Honorable Mention Award at ACM SIGGRAPH 2026 for their paper, “Uncertainty-aware geometry processing on Gaussian Process Implicit Surfaces,” published in ACM Transactions on Graphics (Proceedings of SIGGRAPH).

The 2026 LIRIS doctoral retreat brought PhD students together on June 25–26 at the Domaine des Bens, focusing on large language models (LLMs). Between team-building and scientific exchange, the event strengthened ties among PhD students across sites and research areas, and offered a space to discuss doctoral life.
