Summary:
In this work, we will analyze meshes by methods based on mathematical morphology. Applications of these methods based largely on Minkowski operators to meshes have so far been little studied. They are only restricted to Minkowski sums of convex objects, for which solutions are based on the calculation of convex hulls [O'Rourke] or slope diagrams [Ghosh]. We will consider implementation of new techniques to deal with meshes of any forms (not particularly convex) and in an exact way. Our goal is to build new three-dimensional morphometric analysis tools for the characterization of 3D objects of all kinds. Many areas such as medical imaging, robotics, and chemistry can take advantage of these new techniques.
