11 February: International Women & Girls in Science Day
The LIRIS Gender Equality Commission will be commemorating the International Day of Women and Girls in Science throughout 11 February. We will be posting on Twitter, in the general mailing and on the LIRIS website. The community can make the change.
Less than 30% of researchers worldwide are women (UNESCO Institute for Statistics)
Women are under-represented:
- In science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM), at university and research level
- At decision-making levels of policy-making & programming
