Summary:

Location-Based Services (LBS) are more and more commonly accessed through PDA or smart phones. As portals deriving of services delivered by a unique provider are easy to define, the objective of my thesis is to address the problem of generating portals allowing the accesses of services provided by several companies. In other words, the goal is to generate automatically a unique visual multiprovider portal. So, the overall objectives of this thesis are to establish a conceptual framework for mobile cartography and adaptive visualization as a street view mapping using the concept of multi-service providers. We must start our work by the state of the art of cartography and LBS then providing a complete study on the different types of multi-service providers’ portals, their advantages and disadvantages, identifying the characteristics of a visual street view portal, developing the algorithms that should visualize automatically the services on the PDA screen and finally implementing / testing the prototype of this mobile geovisualization street view portal from many service providers.
