Summary:

The development of large scale cooperative platforms requires a redefinition of synchronization protocols to provide a coherent view of all resources produced by collaboration. Autonomy and the large number of participant leads to a complex synchronization process, where it is no longer possible to construct or operate a global vision of the network.

The main challenge is to manage the follow-up of replicas of documents in a dynamic context (without guarantee of the presence of all actors involved in the cooperation). The objective of this thesis is to propose a synchronization strategy for a large scale distributed system. This strategy must be effective and transparent to users. The various related issues are:
The modeling of synchronization information necessary to maintain the consistency of documents replicas.
P2P architecture dedicated to the management of this synchronization.
Reconciliation protocol due to the dynamic network.
