Subject:
Traces in synchronous collaborative activities

Defense date: 15/12/2010

Coadvisor: Yannick Prié

Summary:

The work is connected to the French ANR ITHACA project
(2007-2010 - Interactive Trace for Human Awareness in Collaborative
Annotation) resulting from the conjonction of two complementary and
innovative research dynamics, linked to the domain of synchronous
collaborative activities: 1/ the use of reflexive interaction traces,
between the users and the tool, in the area of synchronous
collaboration; 2/ the synchronous collaborative annotation of temporal
documents, such as audio or video clips, or episodes of interaction
traces. The ITHACA project aims to provide models, architecture and
tools adapted for one part to an interactive visualisation and use of
synchronous collaborative activity's traces, and for another part to the
synchronous collaborative annotation of temporal documents (for example,
annotation of movies in a synchronous joint manner). The applicative
framework is synchronous collaborative distance learning.
