Summary:

The development of electronic systems facilitates the integration of connected objects and the Internet of Things (IoT) in several domains. Their installation becomes more and more widespread, given the added value they offer. With the heterogeneity and diversity of electronic systems and their increased capacity, the integration of IoT technologies faces several challenges, such as the difficulty in choosing in a growing catalog of IoT technologies and the lack of interoperability of these technologies. This leads to the creation of particular IoT architectures and to the selection of IoT technologies by trying and error approaches. This PhD work intends to propose a service design workflow for helping to create IoT applications guided by the clients’ needs and by the contextual environment. The goal is to enable the client to select the suitable IoT technologies guided by the market supply and to check the performances of the IoT solutions. This includes the design and implementation of a recommendation system and corresponding guidelines to help select the most appropriate IoT technologies adapted to the client needs. We implementation and test our propositions in the context of the logistics of manufacturing facilities.
