Research day on "Foundation Models and Robotics"
"Foundation Models and Robotics" Research day
Date: Tuesday, November 4, 2025
Location: LIRIS @ Centrale Lyon
Scientific Theme 5 (Data and Models) of the Robotics Research Group (GDR) is organizing a Research day on "Foundation Models and Robotics" to be held on Tuesday, November 4, 2025, at the LIRIS site at Centrale Lyon (Écully).
Foundation models, popularized by large language models (LLMs), have demonstrated unparalleled generalization capabilities through the use of massive amounts of data on an internet-scale. These generalization capabilities, along with their multimodal processing capacity (text, image, sound, action, etc.), make them promising approaches in robotics for developing versatile, multi-task, and multi-robot models with natural and intuitive interaction capabilities with humans. However, developing such models in the robotics context poses major challenges related to their embodiment in the physical world and the dynamics inherent in robotics.
The objective of this event is to bring together the scientific community around this theme and to discuss the latest advances in the exploitation, adaptation, and development of foundation models in robotics.
If you would like to present at this event, please send a proposed title and a few lines of abstract to: celine.teuliere@uca.fr
