Presentation to BEREC (Body of European Regulators for Electronic Communications)
Anaëlle Beignon and Aurélien Tabard presented their work on use intensification for BEREC's digital sufficiency day. BEREC brings together representatives from all European Telecommunication regulation agencies. Over one hundred regulators, industry actors, as well as NGO and research institute attended the event.
The presentation covered work conducted by Limites Numériques, et particularly the PhD work of Anaëlle Beignon, on use intensification des usages. We discussed ongoing work as well as work already published on :
- The imposition of digital practices, specificially the case of gen AI (pdf).
- Mechanisms of use intensification (pdf),
- Opportunities for regulation, at the digital infrastructure level, at the service design level, and on the use level.
This workshop will lead to the a report, and videos of the talks will be published in October.
