On February 11th, LIRIS joins the celebration of the International Day of Women and Girls in Science

Let us celebrate together at LIRIS on February 11th and help create a mosaic of stories that can inspire today’s girls to become tomorrow’s scientists.

Many of us can point to a moment, sometimes small, sometimes life-changing, when someone made science feel possible: a teacher, a mentor, a friend. A simple encouragement can light a spark in a girl and years later that spark can grow into a scientific path. Today is a reminder that talent is everywhere and that inclusive role models and supportive environments help it thrive.

To mark the occasion, we are building an online “fresque” of women scientists, a collective tribute to inspiring figures from around the world, and to the memories that shaped our own journeys. We invite you to participate in the short survey (linked on the poster): share your first memory of science, the name of a woman scientist who inspires you, and any message you’d like to pass on to the next generation.
