Charles Javerliat, whose research is conducted at Centrale Lyon ENISE within the LIRIS lab, is the winner of the 2026 i-PhD Prize for his Kineo project. This prize is part of the French government’s Innovation Competitions and is supported by PULSALYS.

Kineo is a precise 3D motion capture software that requires no expensive or specialized hardware. Using simple consumer cameras, webcams, or smartphones, the user can film one or more subjects and extract motion data quickly and fully automatically, enabling mobile deployment in a variety of environments.

The applications are numerous: postural assessment in industrial ergonomics, robotics, quantification of athletic performance, and 3D animation.
