The objective of this presentation is to first give a very brief overview about the research in the Research Centre in Computer Vision and Automation at the Queensland University of Technology. Examples include the detection of flaws in Jacquard textile fabrics, multimodal medical image registration and others. We will then focus on the research in the area of object recognition and give some applications. This includes 3D acquisition, point registration, representation, and matching. We wil then present the results of a couple of case studies or vision systems for object recognition.
