Summary:

The augmented reality (RA) is a growing area with the recent emergence of digital entertainment. In computer graphics, it is to add synthetic objects in a filmed realistic scene without the display of this change may seem artificial.
The area is exploratory and demand multidisciplinary skills: 3D rendering, image-based rendering, vision, photometry, 3D reconstruction, for the most important.
This thesis aims to develop a realistic method for augmented reality with strong real-time, limited computing power and real uncontrolled environment. This problem can be divided into two main areas:
- Display objects synthesis in the real scene, taking into account the ambient light and different components for the scene occlusions.
- Pass on the scene real influence of inserted objects with their shadows, or new sources of light.
This thesis falls within the framework of a project which aims to provide a complete automated platform for mobile augmented reality.
