VOIR - Vision and Observation In Robotics

A smart vision platform

VOIR is a computer vision platform of the Imagine team of the LIRIS Laboratory integrating intelligent vision algorithms into mobile robotics hardware. The platform serves as a demonstrator of the real-time performance and robustness of our algorithms, in particular:

  • Object detection and recognition
  • Face detection and recognition
  • Action detection and recognition

The hardware is centered around a Pekee II robot manufactured by Wany robotics equiped with a an AXIS PTZ camera, a MS Kinect module delivering depth images, two motorized wheels with odometers, ultrasound distance sensors and a bumper.

NEWS : VOIR has been used to shoot the human activities dataset for the forthcoming ICPR 2012 Human activity recognition and localization competition!
