L'activité de l'équipe GrAMA s'oriente vers une double articulation 1) une articulation verticale, propre à chaque thématique (graphes ou multiagents) selon laquelle, les chercheurs s’attaquent à des verrous fondamentaux ou technologiques de leur propre domaine de recherche, et 2) une articulation horizontale, transversale aux deux thèmes, où l’équipe en tant qu’entité s’attaque à des problématiques plus générales, via des modèles propres à chaque thème ou en combinant des modèles des 2 thèmes.

Les objectifs scientifiques de la recherche ont été organisés selon cette double articulation :

  • Au niveau transversal, l’équipe développe des modèles à base de graphes ou de systèmes multi-agents, et fournit des outils d’analyse et des solutions informatiques à des problématiques actuelles comme le passage à l’échelle des algorithmes, l’intelligibilité des données et des connaissances à partir des grandes masses de données, la conception de mécanismes pour le contrôle et le raisonnement distribués, la décentralisation du contrôle et les mécanismes auto-* (auto-stabilisation, auto-organisation, etc.) dans des environnements dynamiques et ouverts.
  • Au niveau local, du point de vue de la thématique graphe, l’équipe s’intéresse à l’étude combinatoire et algorithmique des structures (placement, matching, etc.) et des paramètres de graphes (colorations, domination, jeux combinatoires, etc.). Du point de vue de la thématique multi-agents, l’équipe développe des modèles pour l’interaction et la coordination multi-agents, la reconnaissance d’intention, le couplage de dynamiques et les approches constructivistes pour la cognition.

La démarche de l’équipe consiste à ancrer ses recherches dans des domaines d’étude et d’application communs comme : le web et les réseaux P2P, le domaine du transport et de la logistique, le domaine des réseaux complexes d’objets inter-connectés, etc. Son objectif est également de contribuer à répondre à des problématiques selon une perspective interdisciplinaire.
