The LIRIS, at the heart of humanities : narratives of scientific adventures

For the publication of the work entitled "In the field of humanities : 8 narratives of scientific adventures in the region of Lyon" managed by the “Grand Lyon” in the research fields of Human Sciences, Literature and Numerical studies from the University of Lyon, the LIRIS accepted the invitation of the Human Sciences Agency FRV100 to present some activities supported by pluridisciplinary STIC-SHS collaborations.

Doc Forum and the EDIT cluster organize in Lyon (April 10th, 2013) a meeting dedicated to "Big Data" challenges. The popular 4V should be discussed : Volume, Variety, Velocity and Value. LIRIS GeoMod involved in the design of IGN's Geoportail V3

The work accomplished during the CIFRE PhD thesis of Fabien Cellier, co-supervised by ATOS Worldline and the Geomod team of the LIRIS, were highlighted during the official launch of the Geoportail V3 of the IGN (Institut Géographique National) in October 2012. This work made possible the real-time interactive visualization of large terrain models within a web browser on thin clients.

LIRIS: best performance at ImageCLEF 2012 Photo Annotation challenge

After the second best performance obtained by LIRIS (UMR 5205) in 2011 among 18 research teams from 11 different countries at ImageCLEF Photo Annotation challenge, LIRIS has won the gold medal of this competition by displaying the best performance for its participation in 2012!
